FEDACOVA and the National Association of Artisan Ice Cream Makers (ANHCEA) met today with Fernando Piquer, head of the Agri-Food Quality Figures Service of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
During the meeting, they worked together on the different quality figures available to the Generalitat Valenciana for original products. It has been agreed that the sector will design a set of specifications to obtain the CV quality mark, which will provide artisan ice cream with quality recognition validated and promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana.
On the same morning, FEDACOVA and ANHCEA held a meeting with the Deputy Director General for Food Safety of the Regional Ministry of Health, Mar Canós and members of her team. The Deputy Director has undertaken to send a proposal to update the Sector’s Guide to Good Practices for smaller establishments, which will be agreed with the companies and thus establish a reference document that will harmonise and unify criteria between the Health Administration and the business sector to improve competitiveness and food safety in ice cream and horchata parlours.
