- This alliance consolidates the unity and strength of the Valencian agri-food sector
- The presidents of both entities have highlighted the joint work of the chain in its efforts to contain prices and the resilience of the sector
The Cercle Agroalimentari de la Comunitat Valenciana joins FEDACOVA and will form part of its Board of Directors. This has been agreed by the members of both organisations with the aim of consolidating the unity and strength of the Valencian agri-food sector.
Rafael Juan, President of FEDACOVA, expressed his satisfaction and optimism about the results of this cooperation. “I am sure that by working together we are going to manage to put the Valencian agri-food sector where it deserves to be, so that it has the respect and affection of the whole of Valencian society and continues to be an international benchmark,” he pointed out.
He also stressed that this action will serve to “unify and consolidate the sector, to position it as the main economic engine of the Comunitat together with tourism and to give it the consideration it deserves”.
Both presidents agreed on the importance of the Administration not legislating with its back to the sector, as in the case of the plastics tax, and demanded the efforts of the whole chain, from the primary sector to distribution, including the logistics link and auxiliary services, to contain prices, explaining that the problem lies in an increase in production costs as the main element that puts pressure on prices.
This alliance unifies the agri-food sector around the Federation and is expected to have a pull effect on companies and organisations that are not yet represented in FEDACOVA.
